A promise to the community to go well beyond...
In the beginning of 2006, we began an exhaustive project to discover the core of what Saint Mary’s
truly is. In January 2006 we hired PRACO Public Relations Advertising Company, an agency specializing
in health care marketing out of Colorado Springs, CO, to conduct research, develop a strategic marketing
plan and help create a brand and advertising campaign to better reflect Saint Mary’s mission and purpose to
the community.
Saint Mary’s unique approach to healthcare stood out in the research as a key differentiator. Unlike its
competitors, Saint Mary’s doesn’t stop at treating patients at the hospital. The organization goes to the
community to find people that are in need of care; they offer preventative screenings and educational
classes to make leading a healthy lifestyle possible. Saint Mary’s takes traditional health care and goes
one step further. For this reason, Saint Mary’s new tagline, "Well Beyond," reflects the hospital’s
approach to treating the whole person, not just the illness. The advertising campaign focuses on leading a
healthy lifestyle with a healthcare partner versus focusing on traditional, clinical settings.
"Saint Mary’s has excellent employees, nurses and physicians that continually go beyond the call of
duty; beyond expectations to make leading a healthy life possible," said Larry O’Brien, CEO, Saint Mary’s
Regional Medical Center. "This campaign is truly their words and our promise to the community to raise the
standard when it comes to healthcare."
The new campaign includes print, radio, out-of-home (billboard/transit), online, cinema and traffic
sponsorships. A series of television commercials will air later this fall.
