Saint Mary's Personal Assistance Service (PAS) Program preserves the independence of people with severe
disabilities so they can work, volunteer in the community, go to school, engage in family life, and stay free of
institutional care.
The responsibility of the program's personal assistants is to provide non-medical supportive services to people with
disabilities who are able to direct their own care. Services are provided to recipients in their own homes,
thus avoiding institutionalization.
The program is designed to assist people with such non-medical care as bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, and
assistance with feeding and transfers. As a patient you have the right to be treated with dignity and respect
at all times, recruit, select, and train your assistant.
Saint Mary's Personal Assistance Service Program operates the Northern/Southern Nevada Personal Assistance Service Program (NNPASP/SNPASP) under contract
with Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation, Office of Community Based Services.
